There’s just something truly captivating about the landscape of a vineyard, effortlessly beautiful, perfectly serene and totally bucket list worthy.
Looking for the perfect destination to get away from it all? Adelaide, Australia is the place. This hidden gem has officially earned a spot on my list of most breathtaking wine regions in the world. If you’re craving unforgettable views, world-class wines, and a vibe that feels like something out of a fairy tale, luxurious but in an approachable laid-back way.
When our Pink Girls squad touched down in Adelaide Hills for our girls getaway, we knew we were in for something special. Just a short drive from the city center, this region boasts some of the best wineries in Adelaide Hills, from boutique family-owned vineyards to iconic cellar doors pouring award-winning Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc.
Exploring Australia’s Oldest German Town
But what really made this visit unforgettable? A charming little European village town called Hahndorf. Touted as Australia's oldest surviving German settlement, Hahndorf is like stepping into a postcard. I couldn’t help but get a little emotional soaking in the timeless charm that makes this village so unique. With timber-framed buildings, authentic German bakeries, handmade chocolates, and cobblestone streets, it truly feels like you're stepping back in time. We didn’t get the chance to indulge in the warm pretzels tempting us from the shop windows, but I’m already looking forward to going back, this time to savor every bite and explore more of the village’s handcrafted treasures.
Sisterhood, Sunsets, and Shiraz
Between wine tasting stops and scenic drives through the Adelaide wine region, we sipped sparkling rosé under the trees and shared laughs over cheese boards and oysters with the kind of energy that only happens when women travel together.
The beauty of planning a girls’ trip to wine country in Adelaide is the slow, intentional pace it encourages, plus the unforgettable moments with your crew wasn’t just about wine (though trust me, the wine was phenomenal); it was about reconnecting, resetting, and experiencing a side of South Australia many travelers overlook.
Pro tip: Travel just before peak season to enjoy lower rates, fewer crowds, and front-row access to all the best cellar doors.
If joy had a flavor, it would be a glass of Adelaide Hills rosé shared among sisters under the golden Aussie sun.
