Boldt Castle’s grand spires rise up like a cathedral and soar above the tranquil waters of the St. Lawrence River. As I walked into the foyer of this restored, but not fully renovated 120 room castle, my eyes were immediately drawn upwards towards the ornately adorned stained glass dome! I felt as though I was stepping back in time as I glided down the grand staircase towards the marble floor….

During our trip to France we visited two Champagne Houses as well as the Musee du Parfum. After witnessing these well-known, multi-generational brands we started thinking about our interests, what the market is missing as well as our legacy….

Hip Hip Hooray The Tahitian Way
As one of the most powerful forms of storytelling around the globe, dance is so much more than entertainment. It makes you think in a way that provokes something in you. Full of passion and vitality; Tahitian dance is the most authentic reflection of Polynesian culture which has traditionally connected all aspects of Polynesian life (including celebration, prayer and storytelling). ….

Ah, the South Pacific…The name alone conjures up lavish images of palm trees whispering above finely powdered beaches and cerulean lagoons. It would have been nice to say that I spent a few nights sleeping in a “fale” (a simple open-air beach hut) to get the full South Pacific experience; but my trip to Fiji almost played out like an episode of Gilligan’s Island with me feeling stranded on a resort instead of a desert island….

The Pink List: When You Brunch Harder Than You Party
A tiny NYC restaurant that has strategically placed shades of pink in all the right places; I LOVE the vibes that While We Were Young sends out from the time you step through the door…it’s not the size of the space, but what you do with the space that tells the story . Because this is EXACTLY how I live my life, the space immediately caught my attention. Nestled in the city’s West Village, While We Were Young served our “pinktastic” squad a contemporary American brunch that was almost too pretty to chow down on…….

Built in 1863, the Casino de Monte-Carlo was at the top of my “must-see” list when I touched down in the miniscule country that is still ruled by the same royal family who took over in 1297. Surrounded by clusters of crystal chandeliers, illuminated frescoes and vintage gold painted ceilings; stepping through the casino’s doors felt like I was exiting a time machine….

Summer festivals are a great way to enjoy your own city, especially after a long week. When torn between hopping on a plane to escape your ordinary routine or staying local, having easy access to both New York City and the Jersey Shore definitely has it perks. It's All Greek To Me
We felt a physical and spiritual awakening as we explored the island’s 18th century port cutely arranged with family owned restaurants, streets that stepped back in time and cubist-like homes adorned with flowers. Choosing this tucked away destination allowed us to see Greece as locals do while creating special memories that bonded us in a way that may not have been possible in the more glammed destinations of Mykonos and Santorini…

No Monkey Biz
Totally embodying the phrase, “you never know where the day may lead,” my EPIC Moroccan trip left me with no other choice but to surrender to living in the moment. Just days before this magical dinner, we were standing at a JFK Airport gate pleading with the staff to open the recently closed doors to the only direct flight to Morocco.

A scenic town 31 miles from Cape Town, Paarl is South Africa’s third oldest European settlement. After exploring the vibrant streets of the “Mother City,” I was looking forward to taking in the various farm landscapes on my ride to this picturesque wine district that lies to the north of Stellenbosch with the mountains of the Groot and Klein Drakenstein and Franschhoek ranges to the southeast.

Work Hard Travel Harder: Your Job In This World Is To Be You
The sun beamed down as beads of sweat relentlessly formed just below my hairline with each stride of the 365-step climb to the former diamond trading center that was once the Qutb Shahi dynastic capital. As a frizz puff begin slowly began to unravel on the top of my head, my thoughts drifted beyond the ruins to a period when India had the only known diamond mines in the world…

Pulling off a 30-day solo Espana adventure requires strategic skills, resources, and planning. When I speak of resources, I am referring to a network of contacts, places to visit and knowing where NOT to go. Being that my tutor was from Spain, she was my first source. She suggested visiting her hometown of Valencia, Barcelona and Alicante in Spain’s southern region….

Cadillac convertible down, sunnies on and curls blowing in the wind; we channeled our inner Princess Grace of Monaco (remixed with a little Salsa flavor) while cruising through the countryside to a white sand beach an hour outside of Cuba’s largest city. Not knowing what to expect during my first trip overseas, I touched down in “Bel Paese” with a very open mind. There was no mention of the racial issues faced by Italian soccer players or the possibility of racial encounters that were fueled by the rising number of African immigrants.

Open Yourself Up To The Magic Of A Girls Trip
I stress to my daughter that she can do anything she chooses, but it dawned on me early on in her life that I wanted to be her primary example of this. The vantage point that children have allows them to experience their mothers in such a powerful way. I wanted my daughter to see me bravely travel across the world with friends, so that when her time came she would feel empowered to do likewise. Similarly, there’s something so endearing about going away and then returning with treats, pictures, and stories to share! After returning home from a trip, I have seen my daughter look at my pictures and listen to my stories with such wonder in her eyes and spirit.

With my preference for La Vie en Rose, “Pink Girls Run the World” seemed like the obvious choice when I was considering names for the travel group. Pink always seemed to find a way to creep into our adventures (a rosy hued cocktail, a coral tinted restaurant, a hotel lobby adorned in blush tones, pink beaches, etc.) Inspiring comforting feelings, pink is the color of the falling sunset on the exotic beaches that have left me spellbound. The precise image that pops in my head when I think of putting life on airplane mode….
